Brian Aaron Perkins aka "Memphis Black"

From the time I could pick up a crayon I was drawing and creating art! Luckily I had a natural gift for it as it runs in the family! From my Father, Uncle and my wonderful Daughter the gift of art had been sprinkled upon myself and members of my family. I had the opportunity to work at an animation studio back right out of high school and worked on several projects including an animated Christmas movie. What I learned at the studio really helped my speed and ability to break down objects into their basic shapes for drawing. 

I specialize in pyrography (wood burning) although I do many works with pencil and colored pencils! I like to do "unusual subjects" like bigfoot, monsters and fantasy pieces! The vast majority of wood burnings that I do I color in using colored oil pencils.

I have been involved in the martial arts from the time I was about 5 years old in my Dads Judo class that he used to teach. I hold several black belts and teaching certificates in Aikido, Ju-Jitsu, Kali & Silat and Krav Maga. I have taught martial arts on and off for over twenty years.
